> Providing a free solid estimate with 3d design plans
To ensure you get a bottom-line estimate it is imperative that we come to your house, visit with you, go over all your options, and then take photos of your home. With that we can draw up a professional 3D rendering design with your cities code compliance for your deck project. At that time we can offer you a true estimate. Over the phone we are only able to give you a ballpark estimate due to all of the variables that pertain to a true estimate such as: house attachment, yard drainage to ensure proper footings, easements and setbacks, overall height of the deck itself, placement of the staircase and where it's going to land, etc.
> Constantly looking for new and improved products
Today's decking industry is constantly growing. Along with its growth are introduction to new products to help with safety and overall appearance of the decks. We have close contacts with the top industries and their new products and methods for decking today.
> Ongoing continuing education
We attend many programs that are offered by the state, county and even your city for deck code compliance and deck building methods. In conjunction with that, we are proud members of the Association NADRA, North America Deck and Rail Association, whose mission is to provide a unified source for the professional development, promotion, growth,so that members can exceed the expectations of their customers.
> Building above and beyond city codes
The city codes for deck building are the very minimal requirements required to hang a deck on the side of your house without it falling down (with the minimal allowed weight). This is alright if you have a small family, you don’t have any kid pools, hot tubs, heavy deck furniture, large grills, or host large parties. All of these add weight to your deck and are not considered into the engineering of the code compliance set forth by your city. Fortunately, you are now able to have your city inspector inspect your deck for whatever set weight you would like, but this will have to be an approved, engineered plan to that specific weight. You must keep in mind that if you do not ask for this, they will only inspect your deck for the minimal deck codes set in place by your city. Decks By Joe, with EVERY deck, has engineered plans way above the minimal requirements. We offer #1 lumber graded southern yellow treated pine for sub structure vs #2 graded lumber offered by big box stores. The difference between #1 and #2 graded lumber is vast, both structurally and visually. Our process starts by purchasing #1 graded product. We then hand sort it before treatment, treat it, and then sort it again to make sure no pieces became defective during the process. We also offer tie clamps from Simpson strong tie (beyond the requirements), larger and deeper footings, stronger railing systems, premium decking (#1 select), EverFlashing best deck ledger flashing, house wrap, and the list goes on.

So remember this tip :
If you’re going to have a deck built, make sure you keep the weight factor in mind when designing your deck. You can find most city building codes on line through your local cities website under “Deck Building” codes. Most will display “good”,” better,” and “best” ways of building and designing your deck. Hand outs explaining your cities deck codes and load requirement are also usually available at your city hall.
